This is a really arrogant and unconstructive comment. 'You guys are all Stupid'.

Well Done! You're really clever.

Just answer me this: How many commercial projects have you successfully completed? With a team? In the real world? Or are you too clever to engage in the real world?

Hi Guys,

I have been using Cairgorm for quite a some time now, though my experience in PureMVC is some what limited. I think the comments you guys given to Cairgorm have been a bit harsh. Both of them are having their own pros and cons. It always depends up on your application, whether you should go for Cairgorm or PureMVC. I think for applications that are having a lot of communications to DB server - basically of Enterprise level projects -, Cairgorm is a better choice, where as for applications in which a lot of UI interactions are there but with lesser DB communication, PureMVC may be a better choice. Could you please tell me how PureMVC can be faster with heavier weight of code when compared to Cairgorm? Of course, one advantage of PureMVC may be like it can be ported for Multiple languages like PHP, Ruby, Python, Java etc - but these languages certainly have much better & popular frameworks of their own - so unless there are developers who work in Both platform (with predominantly expertise in Flex - otherwise, for example, for a guy with a lot of PHP experince, he may go with Symphony/CakePHP/Zend frame work for PHP instead of using the lesser efficient, lesser known, least supported "PurMVC port for PHP"), ie Flex + PHP/Ruby/Python/Java, that advantage is nullified. There are a few other points to be discussed about, but due to lack of time i'm stopping. My conclusion is that, if you are comfortable with one particular frame work, enjoy working on it, but don't think that you are absolutely right, and all others are fools just because they are using a different one. I know still I have to go a long way forward, and later i may be proven wrong, and I am not a Stupid to believe that "what i know is absolutely complete and only my view point is correct".

You guys are all stupid. I hear more rambling, idiotic, unsubstantiated comments about PureMVC and Cairngorm than any other web frameworks, design patterns, micro architectures combined.

I definitely agree with you, that PureMVC is better than Cairngorm. But puremvc has its share of stuff, that I would like differently.

Like, the fact that it is so abstracted away from flex, that it has chosen to build its own events, in the form of notifications. I think I know why: To be able to port puremvc itself to other platforms, but that wont buy me anything in my flex world.

Or, like the fact that I must use inheritance everywhere. Inherit Command. Inherit Mediator. Inherit Facade. This makes it impossible for me to inherit something else.

That said, I use PureMVC, and I like using it. I just wanted to note, that it has issues too :-)
